HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

Monday, January 20, 2020

In observance of the national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. both the Parish Office and Our Lady of the Snows School will be closed.  All emergency calls will be answered promptly. Also, there will be one Mass celebrated on Monday at 9:00 AM.

 

INTERNATIONAL NIGHT

Join us for an enjoyable night of fine cuisine sponsored by Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy.  Featuring favorite food and drink from around the world, it will be a night of culinary delights!  There will be prizes and raffles along with traditional music and dance performed by the students.  For admission and more information please call the School Office at (718) 343-1346.

 

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK OPENING MASS

BLESSING OF CHURCH CANDLES

On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord marking the 40th day after Christmas and the Christ Child seen as the Light of the Nations, the blessing of church candles and lamps will take place at Mass.  All are invited to bring candles from home and have them blessed.

BLESSING OF THROATS

In commemoration of St. Blaise the traditional “Blessing of Throats” will take place at the 9:00 AM and 12 Noon Masses.  All are welcomed to pray to be freed of any throat ailment and any other disease.

 

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

The Nocturnal Adoration Society conducts Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 7:00 PM in the church. A Holy Hour will begin at 8:00 PM and conclude with benediction.  All are invited to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament

 

SWEETHEART DANCE

Sponsored by the Home Academy Association, girls in the parish attending kindergarten to Eighth Grade are invited to an elegant night with their father, grandfather, uncle, godfather or other special guest to share in some fine food and dessert, music and dancing and a free photo booth to capture this special moment!  Tickets are $40.00 per couple and $10.00 each additional child and tickets are now available in the Parish Office.  For more information please call contact Lisa Seibert at haaols@olscafp.org

 

MASS & BLESSING OF WEDDING ANNIVERSARY COUPLES & ENGAGED COUPLES

NOVENA TO THE HOLY FACE OF JESUS

Beginning today this special Novena will follow the 12:30 PM Mass.  The following days the Novena will be prayed after the 12 Noon Mass and on Tuesday, February 25th (“Shrove Tuesday”) there will be Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with recitation of the Litany and Chaplet of the Holy Face in the church at 7:30 PM.  All are welcomed to this special devotion before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the holy season of Lent.

 

ASH WEDNESDAY

At the start of the holy season of Lent the blessing and distribution of ashes will take place during the Masses at 9:00 AM, 12 Noon and 7:30 PM.  There will also be a prayer service and distribution of ashes at 4:00 PM

 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Saturdays during Lent

OLS Church

Stations of the Cross will be prayed following the 9:00 AM every Saturday during Lent.  All are encouraged to participate in this Lenten practice of The Way of the Cross.
